Fans of the first game will no doubt be excited to explore this Lucha-inspired Metroidvania game and see what surprises it has in store. The first game was also known for its excellent combat.
Guacamelee 2 is the sequel to 2013’s excellent action platformer, Guacamelee. The sequel looks to continue the first entry’s excellent combat, exploration and stunning art style.
Well, we don’t have an official release date yet. The trailer confirms the game is coming “soon-ish”, while it was noted during the Paris Games Week livestream that the game will be out in 2018 exclusively on PS4. Hopefully we see it early in the new year.
Guacamelee 2 will feature four player co-op throughout the entirety of its campaign. You can also now play as a chicken in the game and fight as it, using new “Chicken Shot” fighting moves which sees your feathered friend dive diagonally down to break blockades or deal damage to enemies.
There’s also a new ‘Dimensional Waves’ mechanic, with scrolling bars moving across the screen representing the same level through different dimensions, so you’ll have to get creative in order to solve these puzzles when they pop up.
