Apple continues to actively lobby for the “right to repair” US legislation. According to a media report, an Apple employee has voiced concerns over end-user iPhone repairs at private meetings with California parliamentarians in recent weeks, which could lead to personal injury.

Improper iPhone repair could damage battery

Together with a lobbyist of the IT industry association CompTIA, the Apple employee presented the parliamentarians with the complex inner workings of the iPhone at the meetings. Improper repair attempts are easily pierced by the integrated lithium-ion battery and could thus lead to injury to the user, had been put forward by the lobbyists as an argument, as the magazine motherboardreports – referring to two sources from the California State Assembly, the Legislative state.

Right to repair requires original replacement parts and instructions for all
