In a short update note, the software company Microsoft has announced the availability of the Hyper-V Server 2019. Actually, the server version should appear in the fall of 2018. However, in November 2018, the company decided to postpone the publication for quality reasons. While Windows Server 2019 was only postponed for a few months, Hyper-V had to wait more than half a year.
Interestingly, the start of support in the lifecycle system is still set to November 2018. This is the date on which the regular Windows servers have been assigned a re-release. The Hyper-V server is related to the Windows Server.
With the Hyper-V server, administrators can build a foundation for virtualizing operating systems. Microsoft promises that the hypervisor will be identical to the Hyper-V role within the paid Windows Server 2019. The Hyper-V Server is a decoupled product that includes only the hypervisor, the Windows Server driver model, and virtualization components.
Hyper-V Server 2019 can be downloaded in the Evaluation Center. Since this server is free, the test phase is not limited. In addition, it needs neither a product key nor a product activation. The same prerequisites apply to the installation of the 64-bit ISO as to the other products of the Windows Server 2019 family. The system requirements are very low. For the operation of a server, the minimum is not really recommended, which Microsoft also admits.
