Scientists from King’s College London concluded that mutations could cause changes in the symptoms of coronavirus disease.
Researchers suggest that the virus “is acting differently now”.
Previously, the most common symptoms were coughing, loss of taste and smell. Now patients are increasingly complaining of headaches, sore throats, runny nose,s, and fever.
According to research, cough is now the fifth most common manifestation of coronavirus, and loss of smell is no longer in the top 10.
In addition, Tim Spector, a professor of the genetic epidemiology of King’s College London said that the Delta variant of COVID-19 is very similar to the common cold and therefore people do not take it seriously.
Prof Spector told the Telegraph:
In this regard, experts recommend taking a coronavirus test when symptoms of the disease appear in order to reduce the spread of the disease.
