Huawei Mate 30 without Android and Google services?

The Mate 30 - No More Huawei Android

The presentation of Huawei Mate 30 , as well as of its likely variants, will almost certainly take place on September 18-19  in Monaco. The new top of the Chinese brand could however have to deal with a problem, a big problem: the impossibility of reaching the market with the official support of Google as regards the Android operating system as well as the apps and services offered by the Mountain View group, i.e. Play Store, Maps and so on. Does it mean no Huawei Android anymore?

Huawei Mate 30 without Android or Google services?

The reason? The US ban on Huawei’s head. To make it known a Google spokesman, with a statement entrusted to the pages of Reuters. The umpteenth 90-day extension recently granted by the US administration, which deferred the definitive introduction of the measure in November, would not apply to new products coming to the market.

It is not currently known whether bigG has requested a temporary license from the overseas Department of Commerce to continue working with the Shenzhen manufacturer.

HarmonyOS earlier than expected?

The response to the news by Huawei has not been long in coming and directly calls into question HarmonyOS, the operating system recently announced by the group, which according to the intentions so far announced should not arrive on smartphones before 2020.

Huawei will continue to use Android and its ecosystem if the US government allows us to do so. Otherwise we will continue to develop our operating system and its ecosystem.

In any case, if Chinese brand is considering it to make it Huawei Android, they may preinstall a version of Android on the Mate 30 without Google services, but the commercial success of such a device (especially in territories like Europe) would be rather unlikely, even considering that it will be a top of the range with specifications and price from high-end device.

The heart of the phone will be the Kirin 990 that the company will present in the coming days at IFA 2019, produced by HiSilicon and based on the ARM architecture.
