The boy just caught a perch when an alligator appeared on the shore and attacked.

An alligator approached a seven-year-old boy while fishing in the US state of Florida. The reptile pulled the rod out of the child’s hands and ate the fish caught on the hook.

It is noted that the incident occurred in the city of Palm Coast, when a local resident Sean McMahon took his 7-year-old son Dawson fishing.

McMahon shared the video to his Facebook page with a warning.

“Alligator alert,” he wrote.

“Dawson caught a bass tonight and out of nowhere an alligator came up, Ate the bass and ripped his pole into the water.”

When Dawson finally pulled the fish out of the water, an alligator suddenly crawled ashore, grabbed the perch, and then pulled the rod into the water. 

According to McMahon, Dawson was not injured, but the incident scared him.

Earlier in Florida, a U.S. Army veteran found an alligator near his home and used a trash can to catch a predator.
