As part of its “trilogy” hardware + software + services, Apple has revealed the details that were left to know about its next game service for the App Store by subscription and without extra payments: Apple Arcade: the platform for gamers. The new service from Apple is to inspire the mobile gamers and bring games from the App Store directly on the Apple platforms.

Apple Arcade: price and availability

Apple plans to release two great services before the end of 2019. The first one will be Apple Arcade, a new section within the App Store.

It is a subscription service with which the user will have access to a certain number of games on all company platforms, from iOS to AppleTV or Mac OS.

Apple Arcade will be released with an initial number of 100 games, all of them new releases, starting next September 19 (in 150 countries). The subscription price will be $ 4.99 per month (same price for the family plan of up to 5 members) and there will be a free trial month.

The games can be played completely, including future updates and no extra purchases within the game.

The games can be played offline and there will be compatibility with third-party controls. In the catalog we will find study games such as Annapurna Interactive, Bossa Studios, Cartoon Network, Finji, Giant Squid, Klei Entertainment, Konami, LEGO, Mistwalker Corporation or SEGA among others.

Apple is working with well-known partners to make this possible. Users can use titles on any Apple device through their registered account. In-app purchases and advertising, a nightmare for many players, are disappearing. Apple promises to keep its games up-to-date and download and use them offline.

In addition to the Apple Arcade, the US group has presented other products. Including a new iPhone series 11, new iPad, new Apple Watch Series 5 and new streaming services.
