Jedi Fallen Order: Star Wars with Lightsaber Focusing

Electronic Arts has released first details on Star Wars: Jedi – Fallen Order. The action game with a young Padawan named Cal Kestis intended to provide close combat with the lightsaber and an exciting plot. A multiplayer mode is not planned.

At a Disney-themed event in Chicago called Star Wars Celebration, developer Respawn Entertainment, part of Electronic Arts, has unveiled its next project. It is titled Star Wars: Jedi – Fallen Order and is scheduled for November 15, 2019, for Windows PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4 on the market. The main character is a Padawan named Cal Kestis, who struggles to survive shortly after Order 66 – a command issued during the Clone Wars that would lead to the annihilation of the Jedi.

The action game is primarily to tell a thrilling adventure, which is located shortly after The Revenge of the Sith (Episode 3). A multiplayer mode is not planned, according to Vince Zampella, head of the developer Studio Respawn Entertainment. It is unclear whether there will be micro-transactions: Zampella has denied that. In the official press release published later, there is still talk of “unique cosmetic extras” – this excludes pay-to-win, but otherwise sounds like Item shop.

So far, little information is available on the actual gameplay, but according to the developers, players see the main character from the shoulder perspective to prove himself in lightsaber fights and solve puzzles. Cal Kestis also has power abilities – which exactly is not yet known.

Kestis is not completely on his own. He is accompanied by a small, pretty cute droid named BD-1, and is in contact with the mysterious Jedi Knight Cere. In addition to the trusted Stormtroopers, there are also more powerful enemies, including particularly strong enemies like Elite Warrior Second Sister (from Star Wars Rebels) and Cleanup Troops, which are designed to help the Imperial Inquisition extinguish the Jedi.

There will be at least one new planet, the world Bracca, on which Fallen Order apparently begins. Later Cal Kestis is still in other environments reach, including more new – but also at one or the other Star Wars already known venue. By the way, the character Kestis is portrayed by the American actor Cameron Monaghan, who is known in this country mainly because of his appearances as Bob Andrews films.
