Apple Event: what we expect in the keynote of September 10

Published on

Next September 10 we will have keynote where Apple will present the products with which it aspires to conquer consumers. It’s time to see what we hope to see announced in this keynote: iPhone 11 (iPhone Pro?), Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Arcade. Let’s go there.

Apple Watch Series 5: new materials, components and straps

Following the scheme of other years, Apple would start the keynote with a brief introduction by Tim Cook. Unless the head of the company decides to dispense with these minutes, we would listen to how the company is doing at this time, review the newer Apple Stores and the occasional additional detail or mention of some beneficial cause.

After this introduction, Cook would give way to his team to present the news. Jeff Williams would start with the new Apple Watch Series 5. After the great redesign of last year, this year it is time to iterate on that basis. A new processor would give the clock even more speed and power, which is practically a certainty.

There are no rumors that point to new sensors, such as sleep measurement (detecting blood glucose is still far away). For that reason, it is possible that the novelties focus on that processor, new belts and two new materials for the Edition collection: titanium and ceramics.

iPhone 11 or iPhone Pro: everything we think we know

Obviously, the highlight of the presentation would be the iPhone 11 (or simply, iPhone Pro as some rumors point). After seeing the new Apple Watch Series 5, Tim Cook would return and give way to more components of his team (Phil Schiller, Dan Riccio) to introduce the new Apple terminal.

The photographic section would cover most of the first section. And it wouldn’t be for less. For months the rumors assume that there will be three models:

  • iPhone Pro Max : 6.5-inch OLED screen, A13 chip and square camera system with three sensors.
  • iPhone Pro : 5.8-inch OLED screen, A13 chip and square camera system with three sensors.
  • iPhone XR2 : 6.1-inch LCD screen, A13 chip and two sensor camera system.

The jump to three models with an additional sensor will improve photography in various fields. Night photos and poor lighting would be the main beneficiaries. Improvements are also expected in “normal” photos and videos, where the wide-angle lens would allow you to capture more detail and zoom without losing it. In the successor of the iPhone XR we would see a portrait mode similar to the current iPhone XS and XS Max. All this would be supported by the new Apple A13 processor.

In addition to the A13, all of them would have an MCC coprocessor designed to lighten the GPU for augmented reality tasks much more advanced than in previous models. Closing the rest of the news would be the wireless charging of some AirPods on the back of the iPhone (similar to that of Samsung), a Face ID with a greater angle, a possible new silence button similar to that of the iPad years ago and the disappearance of 3D Touch.

Apple Arcade: pay once a month and enjoy exclusive games

During the presentation last March, under the title of “It’s Show Time”, Apple unveiled its plans for a game subscription service. Apple Arcade would be responsible for providing users with the following:

  • Access to more than 100 exclusive iOS games.
  • No ads or additional purchases.
  • Play from any device you have (Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV).
  • No need to have a connection.

All this for a monthly amount that is believed to be set at $ 4.99 per month. We would have a trial month with the possibility of sharing the Family subscription. The interesting thing is that with iOS 13, iPadOS 13 and tvOS 13 we will be able to use the Xbox One and PS4 controls to play games that support controllers, thus closing one of the few excuses to play more seriously on Apple devices.

There are still unknowns around Apple Arcade. In addition to the final price, we do not know the complete catalog or the frequency in which new titles are added and old ones are removed. Ann Thai was the executive in charge of showing her initial details in March and we will probably see her again showing the rest.

These are the news that we will almost certainly see next September 10. Of course, there is always the possibility that Apple makes other unexpected announcements, such as the Tile-style locator. Other more important products such as new iPad Pro, an input iPad and 10.2 inches, a renewed Apple TV and even a 16-inch MacBook Pro would see its presentation later. October is usually a usual month to unveil the rest of the apple products for the next technological season.
