Sticker and GIF not enough for you? Soon WhatsApp will introduce the animated stickers

In recent weeks we have talked about WhatsApp mainly through a series of useful guides designed to help you make the most of the popular instant messaging application. In the past few days we have seen some new features coming and coming in the near future, such as the new interface dedicated to the doodle and the “ignore archived chats” function.

Now instead we see how in the near future WhatsApp intends to improve the currently available stickers making them animated. Before going into detail it is necessary to say that the new feature is not currently available for end users. This is because the WhatsApp team is currently working on making sure that, once it is introduced for everyone, there are no operational problems. The news concerns both the mobile apps for iOS and Android operating systems and the Web version.

After a series of rumors emerged in the past, complete with test ads then abandoned, the animated stickers are finally arriving on WhatsApp. These new stickers can be included in the classic packs, where they will complement the already known static versions. The operation of the new animated stickers will be different from that of the GIFs: while the former, once sent, always remain “active”, the latter is only reproduced for a few seconds.

As mentioned and as seen from the images shown above, coming from WABetaInfo, the new feature will be available on WhatsApp for Android, for iOS, and for the Web version.

For now, unfortunately, it is not known when the new animated stickers will be made available for everyone, in any case, the feature works well and third-party stickers will also be supported. Continue to follow us to learn more and download the latest version of the app from the Google Play Store using the badge below.
