‘Batman‘, a superhero who has no superpowers, is, however, a favourite in comic and film history with countless versions starring such as George Clooney and Robert Pattinson. But deciding who is the greatest Batman of all time is no easy task.
Batman was created by American comic writers Bob Kane and Bill Finger, from the DC Comics brand, and released in March 1939. For 71 years he has also known as Night Knight has been portrayed multiple times in film, television series and even video games.
So much so that this year, a new feature film by Warner Bros. Pictures is being added to all these, starring Robert Pattinson, known for the Twilight teenage saga, directed by Matt Reeves.
In fact, Batman has had his own World Day since 2014, when the first film turned 75. The chosen date had been July 23, in order to coincide with the famous Comic-Con comic event. However, from 2015 it was decided to celebrate it on the third Saturday of each month, so this 2020 the date is being celebrated on September 19.
Actors such as Christian Bale, Ben Affleck and George Clooney have played Bruce Wayne in different versions. But who’s the audience favourite?
Best Batman: discussion over?
There are multiple polls on who is the best Batman performer. In early September, one by the Radio Times newspaper favoured Bale with almost half of the votes (42%). Under the direction of Christopher Nolan, Bale portrayed the Dark Knight Trilogy (2005), The Dark Knight (2008), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
He was followed by the animated version with the voice of Adam West (Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, 2016) with 14% of the votes, and Michael Keaton (Batman, 1989) with 13%. Fourth place went to Ben Affleck in 2013’s Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
However, not all fans are represented in these results. Another survey conducted by the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), which turned the first survey.

The poll was conducted via Twitter and had several rounds. Bale, West, Keaton and Affleck were the first to position themselves, leaving Bale and Affleck as finalists. Affleck with more than 55% vote became the winner.
But 2019 poll repositions Bale and leaves him as the favourite Batman. Second place is occupied by Keaton and Affleck appears at fifth place.
