Hilary Duff recently gave fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the ‘How I Met Your Father’ set.
The post, which was uploaded on Duff’s personal Instagram page, included a four-screen look at her most recent filming session for the series.
Duff has already been quite public about her new project. She was quoted in People magazine as saying in a statement:
“I’ve been incredibly lucky in my career to play some wonderful characters and I’m looking forward to taking on the role of Sophie.”
“As a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother, I’m honored and even a little nervous that Carter and Craig would trust me with the sequel of their baby. Isaac and Elizabeth are brilliant, and I can’t wait to work alongside them and all of their genius.”
The spin-off was formally greenlit in April, with Lizzie McGuire playing the Ted Mosby-esque lead role of a mother recounting her kid the narrative of how she met his father.
Sophie and her friends are exploring life and love in the age of dating apps and new technologies in the new series, which is set in 2021.
Augustin will play Ian, a man Sophie meets on Tinder and interacts with online for weeks before consenting to meet in person.
Hilary Duff is also producing the 10-episode series. Creators of the original series Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will also be executive producing.
“As a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother I’m honoured and even a little nervous that Carter Bays and Craig Thomas would trust me with the sequel of their baby,” Duff previously said in a statement (via Variety).
Co-showrunners of This Is Us and co-creators of Love, Victor, Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, are also writing and executive producing.
How I Met Your Father will premiere in the United States on Hulu, with the UK broadcaster to be determined.
