Rumors have circulated in the Queen fan community that following Freddie Mercury’s passing in 1991, the band may have considered collaborating with another famous singer, George Michael. The drummer of the mythical group, Roger Taylor, told the whole truth.
In an interview with Classic Rock music magazine, Taylor revealed that “George wasn’t really used to working with a live band,” so “he wouldn’t have been a good fit.” At the same time, he described Michael’s performance at the tribute concert, held at London’s Wembley Stadium in 1992, as “magnificent”.

Taylor also recalled that “when [Michael] heard the power behind him at rehearsal, he couldn’t believe it. He thought he was on a Concorde plane or something like that.
“It was the soloist of the group Bad Company, Paul Rogers, considered one of the best vocalists of all time, who led the band between 2004 and 2009.
Also, since 2001, the members of the group have performed concerts with the popular American singer Adam Lambert.
