Kanye West confirmed Jay-Z appearance on his newest album as the superstar rapper debuted his new songs.

The rapper hosted a premiere party for Donda – a record named for his late mother – at Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium, which was sold out.

The Yeezy entrepreneur, 44, was dressed in a red puffer jacket, matching pants, and orange shoes of his own creation, as well as what seemed to be a brown rubber mask.

He stormed onto the stage without warning, and the record started playing without any official introduction from the album’s composer.

The last song included a surprise appearance from Jay-Z, West’s long-time friend, competitor, and collaborator.

Jay-Z’s verse included a reference to a “red cap” – a nod to West’s wearing of a Donald Trump MAGA hat.

Young Guru, a record producer and engineer who has worked with Jay-Z, stated that the verse was added at the last minute, which may explain why the launch party began almost two hours late.

He tweeted: “HOV did the verse today!!!! At 4pm.”

The status of their relationship has long been a subject of conjecture. The two millionaires collaborated on the 2011 album Watch The Throne.

Along with Jay-Z, the long-delayed Donda – which was first promised a year ago – includes contributions from hip hop artists such as Pusha T, Lil Baby, and Travis Scott.

During the livestreamed performance, West, who grew up in Chicago, Illinois, sometimes broke out into dancing while walking around the stadium.

At one point, during the song I Know God Breathed On This, West fell to his knees.

West momentarily remained in front of the applauding crowd after the last song before going off stage.

Donda West, an English professor, died in 2007 at the age of 58 as a result of complications from cosmetic surgery.

Her death had a significant effect on West, who named not just an album but also a creative content business after her.

The album includes excerpts from his mother’s speech.

Donda continues West’s last album, 2019’s Jesus Is King, with a repeated religious theme such as “Jesus saved my soul”.

The rapper’s estranged wife, Kim Kardashian West, who filed for divorce in February, attended the event with the couple’s children.

Khloe Kardashian, her sister, was also present.

Donda will be released on Friday.
