Kanye West has spoken out about the recent brawl he was involved in.

After the dispute allegedly ‘turned physical,’ the rapper was named as a suspect, according to the LAPD.

According to reports, the matter is being examined as a misdemeanor battery charge, which carries a maximum penalty of six months in prison.

In response to the event, Kanye stated that the other party “wasn’t a fan,” but rather someone who he believes was attempting to profit from his autograph.

“It was 3am in front of the Warehouse,” he told Hollywood Unlocked. “I’m saying, “You don’t know what I’m dealing with right now.” I just finished these two songs, I came from the studio, and my cousins didn’t really deliver the mission.”

According to Hollywood Unlocked, “the mission” refers to Kanye West asking his cousins to communicate with his estranged wife Kim Kardashian about a security issue that prevented him from picking up his children.

“And this dude, he just had this real attitude, like, “What you gonna do?”” Kanye continued. “Imma just tell you, that blue Covid mask ain’t stop that knockout, you know what I’m saying?”

He went on: “I love the paparazzi, I love the press, I love the media, but then they send those two, probably like some agents or something to really gaslight the situation.”

An LAPD spokesperson previously confirmed the incident to Metro.co.uk and said: “This morning, at 3am officers responded to Santa Fe Ave and Bay Street. 

“A Battery Report was completed with Kanye West as a named suspect. No arrests have been made and the incident is being investigated by our Newton Division.”

Kanye stated in the same interview that Kim’s security wouldn’t let him inside her house to pick up his kids because he thought her boyfriend, Pete Davidson, was inside.

He said: “So at that point, security was in between me and my children and that’s what was not going to happen. But I didn’t want to argue about it. So I just chilled, took my kids to school, and then took my kids back.”

Last year, Kim and Kanye split and have since moved on to new relationships.

Kanye has started seeing Uncut Gems actress Julia Fox, while Kim is dating SNL comic Pete Davidson.
