Melissa Joan Hart has stated that she contracted coronavirus despite being vaccinated, which she believes came from her child.

The 45-year-old Sabrina The Teenage Witch star rushed to Instagram to advise her followers not to become complacent about mask-wearing despite having received the vaccine.

She told her followers:

I got Covid. I am vaccinated and I got Covid, and it’s bad. It’s weighing on my chest, it’s hard to breathe.

One of my kids, I think, has it so far. I’m praying that the other ones are okay.

Melissa, who has sons Mason Walter, 15, Braydon Hart, 13, and Tucker McFadden, eight, with husband Mark Wilkerson, claimed that her youngest child continued to wear a mask throughout the day, as he had been doing since last year, but the rest of her children were not forced to.

She continued:

I’m mad, really mad, because we tried and we took precautions and we cut our exposure by a lot but we got a little lazy.

And I think as a country we got lazy and I’m really mad that my kids didn’t have to wear masks at school. I’m pretty sure where this came from.

She added:

I just really hope my husband and the other ones don’t get it, because if someone has to be taken to the hospital, I can’t go with them.

I’m just scared and sad, and disappointed in myself and some of our leaders and a lot of people including myself.

While the coronavirus vaccine helps minimise the danger of becoming extremely ill or dying from Covid-19, there is still a possibility of contracting or spreading it even if you are fully vaccinated.

While breakthrough cases are rare, symptoms are expected to be milder or asymptomatic compared to those who have not been vaccinated.

Melissa added:

I just wish I’d done better, so I’m asking you guys to do better. Protect your families. Protect your kids.

It’s not over yet. I hoped it was, but it’s not, so stay vigilant and stay safe.
