According to her father, the actress had planned to return to the music industry with songs of her own.

According to the autopsy report from the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, Naya Rivera’s cause of death was drowning and her manner of death was classified as an accident.
Rivera, 33, had rented a boat on the lake in the early afternoon along with her four-year-old son who was found wearing her life jacket, alone and unharmed in the boat, by another boater, approximately three hours later.
Little Josey told the authorities that they had both jumped into the water but that his mother did not return.
“One year without you, one year closer to when we will meet you again. Your endless energy lives on. May you continue to rest so graciously, Naya,” commented the actress’s brother, Mychal Rivera, on the television show Good Morning America.
In this show, her younger sister Nickayla Rivera pointed out that living “one day at a time” and family life has helped them get ahead.
One of the most emotional statements that occurred in the aforementioned American program was that of her mother, Yolanda Previtire, who commented that minutes before her disappearance, she started a conversation with Naya Rivera through a video call.
“We had a beautiful conversation. The sun was kissing her face and she was just beautiful ”, she detailed with a broken voice in the program.
“She was wearing a beautiful white bathing suit and she was beaming.”
On the other hand, her father George Rivera told the magazine, People, that her daughter had planned to travel to Nashville to record several songs that had been writing for some time: “I was really looking forward to start recording music again. Our relationship was based on music,” he said.
According to Rivera’s father, the artist had a series of songs of her own and planned to partner with a band to relaunch her musical career, after her experience in the series Glee, which became an international phenomenon during its broadcast between 2009 and 2015.

“Naya was not in the regular cast when we cast her on Glee. It only had a few lines in the first episode. But it didn’t take us more than one or two to realize that we had found one of the most special and talented stars we would ever have the pleasure of working with,” said Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk, creators of the format after news of her death spread.
Naya Rivera began her career on the small screen in the series The Royal Family from 1991 to 1992, and also appeared in three chapters of the popular program Family Matters.
