The time has come to say goodbye to ‘This is Us’, as The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the sixth season will be the last of the series

There is still no official announcement by NBC, but everything indicates that it will be made this Friday during the announcements by the Upfront of the chain.

You could see it coming

The truth is that the news is not so surprising, since when a few years ago its renewal for three more seasons was announced at one stroke it was already dropped that after that it was likely that, at least, Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, and Sterling K. Brown left the series.

The sixth season is expected to have 18 episodes, more than enough to overcome the barrier of 100 episodes, a figure still important in the face of a syndication agreement that would allow its participants to obtain a juicy additional income.

The news does not mean that it is due to a question of audiences, since ‘This is Us’ is still one of the most-watched series of the North American networks, but Dan Fogelman, creator of the series and also showrunner of the same with Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, had already commented on more than one occasion that it was not a work that could last as long as other successful series.

In fact, at the end of the fourth season, he already said that his plan was to end the sixth.

The fifth season of ‘This is Us’ will come to an end on May 25, and it is unknown for the moment when we will be able to see the sixth and last batch of episodes.
