American actress Jada Pinkett Smith denied having had an extramarital affair with singer August Alsina while married to Will Smith. In this way, the wife of the star of ‘Hitch’ denied the allegations that Smith himself gave his consent.
Alsina claimed to have been with Pinkett Smith for “years”. In a new interview shared with Angela Yee during the program The Breakfast Club, she assured that Will Smith approved of this relationship due to the transformation of her marriage in what she described as “a lifelong alliance”.
Alsina noted that “she loves the Smith family as her own and was annoyed by the American actress’s rejection of this relationship. Alsina met Smith through her son Jaden in 2015.
“Contrary to what some people may think, I am not a troublemaker. I don’t like drama. The drama really makes me sick. For years I had given myself completely to that relationship, and I really loved her deeply and I have a lot of love for her”, emphasized the singer.
According to Alsina, the breakup of the romance “almost killed him.“
“He had never been in love that way,” said the R&B and hip-hop artist, adding that this relationship “pushed him to be someone else.”
The representatives of Pinkett Smith denied Alsina’s statements and pointed out that these “are not at all true” when the British newspaper The Independent contacted the artist.
Smith married Pinkett in 1997 two years after divorcing actress Sheree Zampino.
Rumors that the couple were in an open relationship began to circulate after Pinkett Smith declared in 2013 to The Huffington Post that Will belonged to himself and she was his partner. Two years later, Pinkett told journalist Howard Stern that her husband was a man of integrity and had “all the freedom in the world.”
However, later the actress came to discard the rumors that circulated about her and Will on her Facebook account.
“Will and I can do whatever we want, because we trust each other to do it. This does not mean that we have an open relationship … it means that we have a mature relationship,” wrote the star on the social network.
Jada Pinkett and Will Smith met after she failed at the casting to play the role of the girlfriend of Smith’s character in the series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, broadcast in the 1990s. The couple has two children: Jaden, born in 1998, and Willow, in 2000.
