A glass of tomato juice a day not only protects us from cardiovascular disease but helps digest and maintain the glow of the skin, says new study.
We usually use tomato or tomato juice in many dishes, but how would you feel if you try to drink it? New research suggests that drinking unsalted tomato juice can lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, two important factors that contribute to cardiovascular disease.
The research was published in the Journal of Food Science and Nutrition and its data show that the blood pressure in 94 participants with hypertension dropped significantly after consuming tomato juice.

More specifically, systolic blood pressure decreased from 141.2 to 137 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure averaged from 155 to 149.9 mg / dL.
Still, high levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol in 125 participants dropped from an average of 155 to 149.9 mg / dL. According to the researchers, these beneficial effects were similar for both men and women as well as for different age groups.
This is one reason why tomato juice should not be missing from your daily diet and here are some more:
Healthy skin: Regular consumption of tomato nourishes the skin from the inside out. This is because the chemical compounds in tomatoes can prevent the appearance of acne, improve dichroism and excessive sebum secretion. Even topical application of the juice can make your skin glow.
Cholesterol: There is a lot of research that claims that tomato juice lowers bad cholesterol due to its high fiber content.
Helps digestion: Tomatoes, thanks to the substances they contain, help detoxify your body, thus improving its ability to absorb nutrients from food.

Weight Loss: A 2015 study found that daily tomato juice helps reduce weight around the waist. In fact, this move is enough without making any other changes in your diet and lifestyle (very optimistic research!).
