An Unusual Sign That Could Signal Dangerously High Cholesterol Levels

Published on

A waxy substance that can accumulate in your arteries and obstruct blood flow is referred to as high cholesterol. High cholesterol, which is characterized by a lack of warning indicators, can lead to heart disease and stroke.

Eating fatty foods, not exercising enough, being overweight, smoking, and drinking alcohol are the main causes of the illness.

Moreover, it can run in families.

There are no overt signs that you may have high cholesterol; the only reliable way to determine your levels is through a blood test.

But when high cholesterol gets a lot worse, it can hurt many parts of the body.

One of the early warning signs of elevated cholesterol is reported to be unusual-looking toes.

When high cholesterol first starts to negatively impact a person’s health, it is difficult to reverse the damage.

Regular health checks are always recommended by doctors and other medical professionals in order to catch this silent killer early and treat it effectively before it does any harm.

If you have painful legs or toes, it may be a sign that your cholesterol levels are dangerously high.

Brittle or slowly developing toenails might be a warning sign of a cholesterol issue, according to Dr. Sami Firoozi, consultant cardiologist at the Harley Street Clinic, a division of HCA Healthcare UK.

Brittle toenails are one of the primary symptoms, followed by slow-growing toenails.

These two symptoms are brought on by elevated blood cholesterol levels, which can result in peripheral aerial disease (PAD).

Peripheral aerial disease: what is it?

PAD means that the blood vessels outside of the heart and brain are sick.

Many people with PAD have no symptoms, according to the experts.

However, some people experience a sharp discomfort in their legs when they walk, which normally goes away after a short period of rest.

If you frequently feel leg pain during exercising, you should visit a doctor.
