Did you catch a cold? Natural food that relieves cough and sore throat

The golden hypertrophy, which everyone loves for its sweet taste, is a valuable ally in the fight against upper respiratory tract infections and irritating symptoms like cough and sore throat.

Cough, sore throat, and other upper respiratory tract infection symptoms… If you’re sick of unwanted but frequent winter visitors, all you have to do is turn to a sweet and golden food for rescue.

A spoonful of honey can provide the desired relaxation, and while it may sound like medication coming from the mouths of grandparents and mothers, scientific studies back up its soothing effect.

According to a review of scientific data from 14 studies published in BMJ Evidence-Based Medicine, nearly all of 1,800 people with upper respiratory symptoms – nose, throat, vocal cords, large airways – such as nasal mucus, congestion, sore throat, and cough treated with honey or usual for the case drugs (antihistamines, expectorants, antitussives, painkillers) improved their condition after consuming honey.

In fact, it had a particularly favorable effect on cough, both in terms of intensity and frequency, with some people reporting that the length of the irritating symptoms was decreased by one or even two days.

The findings, however, were confined to observation and do not constitute evidence of honey’s healing properties, according to the researchers. Its antibacterial qualities, on the other hand, may minimize the severity of symptoms, according to scientists, who strongly encourage its usage in adults and children over the age of one year.

There are four more reasons to add it to your diet.

For four more reasons, the nutritious treasure that bees provide us has a prominent position in our food preferences:

  • contains a lot of antioxidants such flavonoids and phenolic acids, which are found in larger proportions in darker honey kinds.
  • In terms of blood sugar levels, it is superior to sugar because it does not generate such a rapid surge.
  • Improves cardiovascular health by decreasing blood pressure and blood lipids, stabilizing heart rate, and preventing the death of healthy cells, among other features assigned to it by relevant studies. Honey propolis, on the other hand, has been associated to reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
  • It is an effective local treatment for burns, with properties that have been known since ancient times in cultures such as the Egyptians
