Doctor reveals foods that prevent the risk of stroke by lowering HBP

High blood pressure also known as hypertension increases the risk of heart attack and stroke. For those who suffer from high blood pressure, Dr. Chris Steele has given three dietary suggestions that may help lower their readings – especially if you suffer from high blood pressure.

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is commonly referred to as the “silent” killer. The illness, which is characterized by a lack of symptoms, might increase your risk of serious health problems without you even realizing it. Fortunately, simple lifestyle changes can help you lower your blood pressure.

According to the Mayo Clinic, high blood pressure refers to the long-term force of blood against your artery walls that is high enough to cause health problems.

Nearly half of adults in the United States (47%, or 116 million) suffer from hypertension – and many might not even know about it.

The good news is that you can manage your illness and reduce your reading.

Dr. Chris discussed the encouraging findings of a recent study from the University of South Australia that looked at this illness on ITV’s This Morning.

The study’s key finding was that eating yoghurt on a daily basis can help lower blood pressure.

Dr. Chris said: “Now, this is normal natural yoghurt, not a fruit flavoured one with added sugar.

“Ideally, live yoghurt, if you can get it.

“They also advise having walnuts every day and also herbal tea, in particular, hibiscus.”

The doctor further added: “These foods will reduce your levels of high blood pressure, especially, if you suffer from hypertension.”

In total, 915 people were examined in the study.

A meal frequency questionnaire was used to assess the extent to which the participants consumed yoghurt.

The findings revealed: “Whether it’s a dollop on your morning cereal or a simple snack on the go, a daily dose of yoghurt could be the next go-to food for people with high blood pressure.”

Dr. Alexandra Wade, a University of South Australia expert, outlined what makes yoghurt so powerful.

“Dairy foods, especially yoghurt, may be capable of reducing blood pressure.

“This is because dairy foods contain a range of micronutrients, including calcium, magnesium and potassium, all of which are involved in the regulation of blood pressure.

“Yoghurt is especially interesting because it also contains bacteria that promote the release of proteins which lowers blood pressure.”

She went on to say that even “small amounts” of the creamy meals could have a positive impact on persons with high blood pressure.

Dr. Waded said: “And for those who consumed yoghurt regularly, the results were even stronger, with blood pressure readings nearly seven points lower than those who did not consume yoghurt.”

These findings are significant since elevated blood pressure is one of the leading risk factors for stroke and heart disease.

And heart disease is now the biggest cause of mortality on the planet. You can lessen your risk of developing a deadly condition by reducing your blood pressure.
