Eight Omicron symptoms and when you’ll likely get them

Omicron is characterized by symptoms that differ from those associated with typical coronavirus infections.

Here are some of the less well-known emergency warning symptoms of the new Covid variant that develop on the skin, lips, and nails and for which you should seek immediate medical attention.

Omicron is still doing havoc across the United States, with over 400,000 cases confirmed just yesterday. What are the first signs and symptoms to be on the lookout for?

Increasingly, as we learn more about Omicron, investigations have begun to identify the primary symptoms of this type as well as the time period during which the virus can develop.

Here’s what we know thus far about the Omicron symptoms.

Even though the actual impact of the Omicron Covid-19 variant will not be noticed until after the holidays, it is vital to be aware of the symptoms to look out for and when they may manifest themselves.

Experts from around the world have discovered eight symptoms of the variant, none of which are identical to the commonly-known Covid-19 symptoms of a dry cough, fever, and loss of taste or smell. The symptoms of the variant are as follows:

Becoming aware of a freshly scratchy throat or headache may aid in the prevention of the variant’s spread.

There are eight symptoms that have been recognized as being unmistakable signals that you may have contracted the variant: a scratchy throat, runny nose, fatigue, sneezing, lower back discomfort, headache, night sweats, and muscle aches are among them.

Furthermore, according to the Daily Express, these symptoms can manifest themselves as early as two days after being exposed to someone who has Omicron strain.

Symptoms can sometimes take longer to manifest, making it critical to test on a frequent basis if you have been exposed or have been self-isolating for more than 10 days.

According to Ryan Roach, CEO of South African health insurance Discovery Health, anecdotal evidence reveals that Omicron symptoms appear to manifest themselves within three days of being exposed to the virus.

Symptoms of Omicron, according to Professor Tim Spector, the scientist who created symptom tracker software Zoe, are more akin to those of a typical cold.

Prof. Spector says anyone who has cold-like symptoms should get a Covid test to see if they have Omicron.
