How much liquid should a person consume per day and is only water suitable for this purpose?

Many people believe that you need to drink at least two liters of water a day. However, this is not quite true. Water is ideal, but not the only source of fluids for humans.

So the required volume can be obtained from various sources. You can even “eat” a little water, nutritionist Natalya, a member of the Association of Nutritionists of Canada, explained in an interview.

“Water, of course, is the cheapest and most readily available source of liquid. But it is considered absolutely everything: coffee, tea, soups, cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelon, iceberg lettuce, and so on. That is, you can “eat” water. Imagine if a person eats soup for lunch, eats a lot of vegetables, fruits – it is impossible to drink two liters of water. He still gets this liquid through food,” the nutritionist explained.

It should be understood that not all drinks will be as useful as regular water.

“For example, many drink different fruit drinks. There is liquid, but with it added sugar. Water like “Narzan” usually contains a large amount of soda, this will change the acidity of the stomach. The acidity in the human stomach is 1.5 pH, it helps to fight bacteria, helps to digest food. The acidity helps to release and activate enzymes that digest protein. And if a person does not have some mandatory prescription, it is necessary to reduce acidity, you should not drink this water in liters,” the expert stressed

But if you are a healthy person, then what kind of water to choose does not really matter, the nutritionist believes.
