Even a healthy diet and avoiding unhealthy foods can lead to fatigue if done incorrectly.

American nutritionists have shared methods of dealing with energy loss and fatigue while losing weight.

The first reason for increased fatigue may be a sharp reduction in calories consumed.

According to expert Elizabeth DeRobertis, food provides the energy you need to stay focused and productive throughout the day.

And while many people think they should eat as little as possible, this doesn’t work in the long run.

Dietary restrictions lead to a slowdown in metabolism and a person feels exhausted.

“You also end up too hungry … and end up overeating as a result,” she said.

Nutritionist Melissa Majumdar advises you to check if your portions are too cut when you lose energy.

“If you are feeling low in energy, check in on the energy you’re taking in. Start with adding an additional 1 to 2 ounces of lean protein, a half cup of whole grains, or 1 tablespoon of a healthy fat and reanalyze,” Majumdar said.

Another common problem with losing weight is eating too little.

“If two or three hours after a meal you are low in energy, plug in a balanced snack of fiber and protein, like fresh fruit with a handful of nuts or a small bag of edamame,” Melissa recommends.

Lack of carbohydrates in the diet negatively affects the state of the body, which causes irritability, fatigue and threatens dehydration.

Avoiding sweets is very beneficial, but it is important to make sure the person is consuming enough fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

Especially the lack of carbohydrates manifests itself with an increase in physical activity.

If a person is literally exhausted after playing sports, you need to either recheck the diet or reduce the load.

It can also get sleepy when you have an excess of carbohydrates.

“If someone has too many carbohydrates in one sitting — even if it’s healthy carbs, like brown rice, beans, sweet potato, whole grain pasta, or quinoa — for some, too many can raise blood sugar, and high blood sugar makes us feel tired and lethargic,” explained DeRobertis.

In addition, an unbalanced vegetarian diet can cause health problems.

Vegetarians should take care of getting enough vitamin B12 and iron (from supplements and plant sources) to avoid anemia.
