Study detects four new possible side effects associated with the Pfizer vaccine

Published on

As more information becomes available, vaccine side effects remain a source of concern.

A new paper published by the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has recorded new suspected side effects in covid patients who received Pfizer vaccine – have you noticed these?

The world is currently engaged in the largest study in human history: a global vaccination campaign to combat COVID-19. So far, the results have been extremely encouraging. The world has opened its doors to business, but hospital ICU beds remain unfilled.

These are clear indications that the vaccines are having the desired effect. Despite the numerous benefits of vaccination, it is possible to experience some unpleasant side effects after receiving a Covid vaccine, though most are transient.

The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) has identified four new possible side effects of the Pfizer vaccine.

The side effects were reported in its seventh pharmacovigilance report on COVID-19 vaccines.

As of July 11, 2021, 33,455,291 Pfizer doses had been administered in Spain.

A total of 17,387 adverse event notifications were registered in the FEDRA database (where side effects are documented) from this sample, with the majority (79 percent) corresponding to women and people between the ages of 18 and 65. (83 percent).

Of the total number of notifications received, 3,361 were deemed serious.

They found:

  • Asthenia (lack of energy or strength)
  • Lethargy (state of indifference or inactivity)
  • Decreased appetite
  • Nighttime hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

If the side effects are confirmed, they will be included in the vaccine’s technical data sheet and package insert.

Covid vaccines other receint findings

Imperial College London and Ipsos MORI findings from June 24 to July 12 show that fully vaccinated people were three times less likely than unvaccinated people to test positive for COVID-19.

The findings come from the most recent REACT-1 report, which is one of the country’s largest studies into COVID-19 infections in England.

Over 98,000 volunteers took part in the study in England between June 24 and July 12 to look at COVID-19 levels in the general population. According to the most recent data, infections in England have quadrupled from 0.15 percent to 0.63 percent since the last REACT-1 report, which covered the period from 20 May to 7 June.

Despite this increase, the findings show that the virus’s spread was slowing as of July 12, and infection rates for double vaccinated people are three times lower than for unvaccinated people.

According to Imperial College research, people who have been twice vaccinated are less likely to spread the virus to others.

The vaccination programme has been successful in weakening the link between infection, hospitalization, and death, but the data shows that it is critical to remain vigilant and follow government guidelines to ensure that the risk is reduced in the future.
