Mexican-born actress Salma Hayek shared the recipe of her healthy drink that she drinks in the morning that serves as a source of energy, vitamin C and antioxidants.
“If you want your morning orange juice to be much better, here are some tips for you,” says the actress sitting at the table with various ingredients in two bowls, a juicer and a jug of orange liquid.
The first step, according to the video posted on Instagram, is to prepare fresh orange juice, which is a great source of vitamin C. Then Hayek adds a little turmeric, which has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
“For your body to better absorb all the benefits of turmeric, add a little black pepper,” advised the 54-year-old star.
Hayek assured that by mixing the drink with pepper makes the drink much healthier, “since the combination makes your body absorb all the nutrients, vitamins and anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric.”
Then the actress reveals the secret of her healthy morning drink: Sea Buckthorn juice.
“If you want to make it more beautiful, there is another tip. This secret and weird puree is sea buckthorn,” she revealed, showing a jug by her side.
She explained that this plant grows in the Himalayas and is the richest source of omega 7, an unsaturated fat that helps preserve the beauty and health of the skin. In addition, sea buckthorn has about 15 times more vitamin C than oranges. It does not contain collagen, but it helps the body to produce it.
