Drinking coffee is a daily habit of millions of people around the world. However, on very hot days it is recommended to take some measures to prevent this drink from affecting your health.
Drinking coffee on extremely hot days is not necessarily a problem, but it is important to do so in moderation. This is because one of the effects of this drink is to accelerate the elimination of fluids from the body, explains cardiologist and dietitian consulted by the Revyuh Team.

“You can drink coffee in the heat, but with care. What happens is that coffee has a diuretic effect, and it is especially important for us to maintain the body’s water balance in the heat,” the specialist explained.
During hot days, according to the dietitian, it is advisable to balance the intake of coffee and other liquids. In this way, the body’s hydration levels are maintained, something of great importance during the heat.
“Coffee leads to dehydration, so it is advisable to drink a glass of water for every glass of coffee,” said the doctor.
According to the expert, it is important to exercise caution when consuming coffee combined with other beverages, such as orange juice or an energy drink, for example.
“The combination of coffee with juice is not harmful, but it must be remembered that freshly squeezed orange juice contains fast carbohydrates. Adding this, we actually add fructose, sugar, to coffee. This adds calories, but does not create satiety. Coffee with an energy drink, in turn, it is an additional burden on the heart. And, in the heat, our heart already works somewhat intensely, this can cause undesirable consequences for the body,” said the cardiologist.
The amount of coffee that one should consume per day varies from person to person, says the doctor, so it is best to take into account the effects of the drink on the body.
