Antioxidants

Pomegranate juice contains powerful antioxidants and according to studies, contains up to three times more antioxidants compared to green tea. These substances protect cells from free radicals and reduce oxidative stress.

Vitamin C

The juice of a single pomegranate offers more than 40 percent of your daily requirement of vitamin C. Pasteurized pomegranate juice can break down vitamin C, so choose for homemade or fresh pomegranate juice to get the most of the nutrient.

Hypertension

As long as our blood pressure is kept constant at high levels, so does the risk of cardiovascular disease. Of course, our dietary choices play a crucial role, and according to findings published in Phytotherapy Research, just 150 ml of pomegranate juice a day for two weeks effectively reduced participants’ hypertension.

Arthritis

Pomegranate juice also has anti-inflammatory properties that act on the inflammation caused in the joints and is considered a food ally in the fight against arthritis.

Memory

According to research published in the Journal Neurobiology of Disease, pomegranate juice enhances memory and helps fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
