Anyone, at any age, can get arthritis, which causes the joints to swell up and hurt. However, what you drink could have a significant effect on your body.

Drinking water can help reduce uncomfortable inflammation, says dietitian Sonya Angelone. Before you eat anything, she advised beginning each day with a glass of water. Water is regarded as “a magical elixir” that not only hydrates the body but also aids in the removal of toxins from the body. People frequently suffer from dehydration without even realizing it.

Dehydration symptoms

  • Feeling thirsty
  • Dark yellow and strong-smelling pee
  • Feeling dizzy or lightheaded
  • Feeling tired
  • A dry mouth, lips and eyes
  • Peeing little, and fewer than four times a day.

The experts advised drinking enough water throughout the day to ensure that your poop has a light, clear color.

Angelone also said that inflammation goes down when toxins are flushed out of the body.

According to Angelone, drinking enough water can keep your joints lubricated and help you avoid gout attacks.

Gout flare-ups

A kind of arthritis known as gout results in abrupt, intense joint pain and swelling.

Angelone added, “Drinking water before a meal can also help you eat less, promoting weight loss”.

The NIH emphasized that carrying extra weight puts extra pressure on the joints.

For instance, being overweight can result in more discomfort and mobility problems.

Green tea, according to Angelone, is another another beneficial beverage to take into account when managing arthritis.

Epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG), one of the polyphenols abundant in green tea, has “strong anti-inflammatory effects.”

According to research, EGCG has up to 100 times more antioxidant activity than vitamins C and E.

“Studies have shown,” according to the expert, “it also helps preserve cartilage and bone, although there are no widespread controlled trials of it in people with arthritis.”

Green tea includes caffeine, so avoid drinking it before bedtime, according to Angelone.

Additionally, Angelone advises limiting your daily consumption of green tea to two cups.

Pineapple juice is another drink that is helpful for reducing inflammation.

Antioxidants and vitamin C, which are abundant in pineapple juice, can aid in scavenging free radicals that might otherwise cause inflammation.

Juice is wonderful but high in sugar and calories, so use caution when consuming it, advised Angelone.

People with arthritis would benefit from regular exercise in addition to ingesting beneficial beverages that can reduce inflammation.

Regular exercise can help make joints less stiff, build muscle strength, and make them easier to move.

NIH advises 150 minutes of exercise each week.
