Three natural drinks can save you from deadly thrombosis

Published on

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) kills nearly 10 million people worldwide each year, and the formation of blood clots is one of the most notorious effects of COVID.

Therefore, it is important to take all possible measures to reduce blood clotting.

Fortunately, there are three natural drinks that can help us in this regard.

Pomegranate juice

It is well known that these fruits are a great source of a wide variety of vitamins and other nutrients. However, this is not the only benefit of the pomegranate.

Scientists from La Sapienza University, Italy, discovered that pomegranate juice has anticoagulant properties. In the study, they revealed that this is because it does not allow platelets to stick together, which is why the blood vessels do not narrow. Thus, accelerated coagulation is prevented.

As an additional benefit of the pomegranate, and therefore its juice, it is worth mentioning the ellagic acid it contains. This substance prevents the formation of wrinkles and skin infections. In addition, it prevents the breakdown of collagen.

As if that were not enough, pomegranate juice will also be of great help for those who suffer from joint inflammation.

According to a study by Case Western Reserve University, pomegranate juice is capable of inhibiting the enzymes that affect the joints.

Linden tea

Unlike linden honey, which is prepared from the leaves, tea is made from the flowers of these plants, which contain antioxidants such as quercetin, coumarin, and other flavonoids.

In addition, multiple studies have shown that it has positive effects on cardiovascular health, reduces inflammation and prevents hypertension thanks to the vasodilator effects of the flavonoids it contains. In this regard, antioxidants are also of great help, since they do not allow triglyceride levels to rise in the blood.

Among other benefits of consuming linden tea are its calming effects, its ability to strengthen the immune system and maintain the health of the digestive system.

Cocoa

The polyphenols contained in this food contribute to the inhibition of platelets and do not allow their microparticles to form. Thanks to this, cocoa has an effect similar to that of aspirin and therefore can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

With this, it should be noted that these effects are more pronounced when this drink is prepared with a high cocoa content and a minimum amount of additives.
