What’s the right way to boil eggs?

A medium egg contains vitamins D, A, E, K, and B6, as well as calcium and zinc. These products are rich in cholesterol, but they do not have a negative effect on your blood levels.

Another important health benefit is that eggs contain lutein and zeaxanthin, which are nutrients known to counteract some of the degenerative processes that affect our eyes. In addition, they are an excellent source of protein and can help you lose weight, increase muscle mass, lower blood pressure, and improve bone health.

Several studies show that you can eat up to three whole eggs daily. However, there is evidence that consuming more than this amount could be dangerous, but no research has been done to verify this either.

The object of study was an 88-year-old man who consumed 25 eggs per day. His cholesterol levels were normal and his health was very good. But eating any food in excess can sometimes be harmful, writes Express columnist Kaisha Langton.

How long does it take to boil an egg?

The cooking time depends on the type of egg you want to achieve. In any case, you have to follow these recommendations:

Five minutes: for a white egg to turn white, but yolk runny.

Six minutes: so that an egg has a runny yolk, but that it is a little less viscous.

Seven minutes: so that an egg is almost solid and its yolk is sticky and soft, but not runny.

Eight minutes: for an egg to be gently solid, especially if you plan to cook Scottish eggs.

Ten minutes: for an egg to be completely hard, but not dry and chalky.

What happens if you cook the eggs for a long time?

If you boil an egg for a long time, you can be left with a gray or green one that can be dangerous to your health if you eat it. The texture of its yolk can become dry and chalky and the taste can seem rotten. Also, when you cook an egg for many hours, it becomes rubbery and overcooked.

How to boil an egg?

You can cook an egg in different ways, such as steaming or pressure, baking, etc. The easiest way to prepare this food is to fill a large pot with water and put it on a stove to heat. You need to bring the water to a full boil and then bring it to a simmer.

Afterward, you should very carefully put the eggs in the water and make sure there is enough liquid to cover them. Then you have to boil them over low heat.

You have to cook the eggs for a period of time stated above to achieve what you want. If you want to steam an egg, you should fill the pot with an inch or two of water. You have to heat the water to a boil and then carefully place the eggs in a steamer basket.

Next, you should cover the pot and steam the eggs for about five or six minutes for soft or 12 minutes for hard. Then you need to add a cup of water to your pressure cooker and insert a steamer basket. You have to place the eggs in the basket and put the lid on.

Then, you have to set the pressure cooker to a low setting and cook the eggs for two to four minutes to make them soft or seven to eight minutes to be hard.

To get the perfect hard-boiled egg when baking, you need to preheat the oven to 180 ° C and place one egg in each cup on a muffin pan. You need to cook them for 22 minutes to make them soft or 30 minutes to have them hard. Then soak them in an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
