For the first time, Marilyn flew free to Copenhagen in 2002, the second time she went to Paris.

At O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, 69-year-old Marilyn Hartman, who has been flying without a ticket for almost 20 years, was detained. The detention took place two days after the interview, in which Hartman announced that she was ending her travels.

She began her journey in 2002 and flew to Copenhagen free of charge. She also managed to infiltrate flights to Seattle, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Atlanta, San Francisco, London. Over the past 19 years, Marilyn Hartman managed to penetrate 30 flights without a ticket.

“I have never been able to board a plane by myself — I was always let through. I mean, I was able to go through the security line without a boarding pass. I got by them … by following someone. They would be carrying like a blue bag. And the next thing I know, I get into the TSA line and TSA lets me through, and they think I’m with the guy with the blue bag,” Hartman said.

In 2014, a woman was first arrested while flying from San Jose, California to Los Angeles. The judges warned her to give up this illegal practice, but after seven months, Marilyn boarded the plane without a ticket.

After the first arrest, Marilyn was detained several times. At the O’Hare airport they already knew her by sight. In 2019, electronic surveillance was installed for Hartman. The woman was declared incapacitated due to her mental disorders. Marilyn herself justifies her delinquency by a difficult childhood.

Now, as law enforcement officers say, a woman may face a real term in prison, since she will not be given another probationary term.
