The author of the ‘Harry Potter’ saga has set Twitter on fire by supporting a British woman who was fired from her company for pouring “offensive” comments towards the trans community
“Transphobic culture is to see how the author most appreciated by your generation likes a tweet of a ‘troll’ that on Twitter has repeatedly described you as a man.” In March 2018, Shon Faye, a trans journalist, was shaking social networks with JK Rowling, the author of the hit fantasy series of ‘Harry Potter’, the one who would have liked a Twitter post in which he lashed out against trans women with the expression “men dressed in dresses”.
“Wingardium Transfobia”, commented at the time on the social network another journalist, Phillip Ellis, attaching a capture of the first tweet that tops the list of ‘likes’ of the writer at that time. It is not the only time Rowling has caused a stir on Twitter for controversial comments. In a final ‘post’ arsonist on the platform founded by Jack Dorsey, the novelist has shown her support for Maya Forstater, a researcher who was fired from the company where she worked for posting “offensive and discriminatory” comments on Twitter to the trans community.

Dress however you please.
Call yourself whatever you like.
Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you.
Live your best life in peace and security.
But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real? #IStandWithMaya #ThisIsNotADrill— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) December 19, 2019
“Dress as you like. Use the name you like. Lie down with every adult who wants to also have sex with you. Live the best life in peace and security. But To force women to leave their jobs for saying that biological sex is a real matter? “, the writer said in her publication, suggesting that the genitals assigned at birth define, therefore, the gender of a person.
With these words, Rowling said on Twitter after Forstater statements about the legal lawsuit she has with his company, which has won the first ’round’ before the courts, in which she insisted on his opinion that sex is a ” biological fact and is immutable “, also affirming in the publication that it cannot be changed.
This fact, that JK Rowling has publicly supported Maya Forstater, has pissed off a part of the fans who have followed, since the publication of the first book in the late 1990s, everything that the British have written in the magical universe of Hogwarts, and who now claim that they are separated from their literary and cinematographic works for showing, from their point of view, a transphobic ideology on Twitter, while other Twitter users are positioned next to Rowling and Forstater.
My belief as i set out in my witness statement is that sex is a biological fact & is immutable. There are two sexes. Men are male. Women are female. It is impossible to change sex. These were until very recently understood as basic facts of life
