Heartwarming pictures show a group of sheriff’s deputies in St. Augustine, Florida helping a five-year-old boy celebrate his birthday – after his friends failed to show up for the big day.

Little Jackson, surname withheld, arrived at indoor playground Ready Set Play, accompanied only by family.

But the big-hearted deputies swung into action and bought Jackson presents from the local Walgreens in St. Augustine, Florida.

The deputies then stuck around for the whole party, taking pictures with Jackson, sharing cake, and even playing with him on the Jungle Gym.

St John’s Sheriff Office’s Facebook reported a good samaritan even purchased a gift card for Jackson when he saw the deputies buying gifts.

If Jackson’s arresting smile is any indication, the deputies did a good job and Operation Birthday Surprise was a huge success.
