Oscar-winning American actor Tom Hanks, who contracted COVID-19 in March with his wife, Rita Wilson, recounted how he lived through the dangerous disease.
In an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian, the interpreter of Forrest Gump confessed that he and his wife “had very different reactions” to the coronavirus.
“My wife lost her sense of taste and smell, she had severe nausea and a much higher fever than me,” said the actor. As for Hanks himself, he had symptoms like “paralyzing body aches” or “constant fatigue.”
“I couldn’t focus on anything for more than 12 minutes,” revealed the actor, who added ironically that “it’s his natural state.”
Hanks was in the Australian city of Gold Coast filming Baz Luhrmann’s biographical feature Elvis when he had the symptoms of the coronavirus.
Later, he and his wife offered their plasma to help create a cure for COVID-19.
