Many celebrities, including Donald Trump, Justin Bieber, Jared Leto, Megan Fox, and others, paid attention to the Saturday UFC fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. However, it was the former US president and a particular director who seemed to grab the attention of netizens’ more.

A video reportedly depicting a guy who many netizens identified as Mel Gibson delivering a spectacular military salute to POTUS 45 went viral few days after a UFC fight that drew numerous celebrities, including former US President Donald Trump and filmmaker Mel Gibson.

Netizens were quick to question if Gibson had actually saluted Trump, and they were split on how they felt about the renowned actor and filmmaker doing so.

Some questioned the protocol for greeting previous presidents, as well as whether saluting them is even acceptable, given that neither Trump nor Gibson served in the military.

Others just clashed about how they liked or disliked the move made by Gibson – with sides.

Some voiced concern that Gibson might be “cancelled” after the move.

The Saturday UFC event, in which Conor McGregor broke a leg when fighting longtime rival Dustin Poirier, drew a lot of attention, particularly from many celebrities, as, apart from Trump and Gibson, Justin Bieber, Jared Leto, Megan Fox, the Paul brothers, and many others were in attendance.
