Blue Lives Matter supporters say the movement was created to help law enforcement officers in a time of need.
Blue Lives Matter emerged in response to the Black Lives Matter movement, which together with Antifa and other far-left groups organized protests against police brutality and demanded the implementation of significant police reforms in the United States.
The protests erupted after an online video of the death of African-American man George Floyd was released during his arrest in Minneapolis on May 25; the four policemen involved were fired and the justice filed charges against them for homicide.
However, many of the protests turned into violent riots against the Police, as well as against civilians and acts of vandalism, arson and looting.
