Forest fires in the US state of California affected a total of more than 50,000 hectares and destroyed more than 100 buildings, the fire service said in its report.
Firefighters indicated that in the last day the fires devastated more than 30,000 hectares.
“The fire spreads in different directions and affects many localities,” the document says.
The report notes that in Sonoma, Lake and Napa counties the fires destroyed 105 buildings, damaged another 70 and put 25,000 facilities under threat. In addition, the fire caused four people injured.

According to data from the United States National Weather Service, on August 16 Death Valley, located in the Mojave Desert, in the state of California, reached a record temperature of 54.4 degrees Celsius.
Forecasters noted that the heatwave has continued to move toward the west coast of the US since the beginning of this week.

On August 18 the governor of California, Gavin Newson, declared a state of emergency due to the heatwaves and the forest fires.
