“Yes. As of right now we are going – that is the plan,” Jenner stated when she was asked about a 2022 run.
Caitlyn Jenner says she plans to run for California governor in 2022 if Republicans do not succeed in recalling Gov. Gavin Newsom this fall.
She made the comments at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday. The Republican’s plan is to win the recall.
“Yes. As of right now we are going – that is the plan,” Jenner told Fox News when she was asked about a 2022 run.

“Once this is over with we are going to kind of evaluate everything that we’ve done over this recall election. But to be honest with you I don’t plan on losing this election,” Jenner added.
“We’re going to take him out now. Our best opportunity to take out Gavin Newsom is right now.”
California Gov. Gavin Newsom is running for re-election in a race that includes several high-profile Republicans. The California recall process includes two questions whether the sitting governor should be recalled and who should replace him if he’s not. If the governor is actually recalled, the question is only relevant if the new candidate wins.
Republican candidates for the New Jersey governorship have declared their candidacy. Republicans are hoping to win the race. Republican Gov. Chris Christie is expected to run for re-election.
“I didn’t go into races when I was in the old days training thinking I was going to get second place, I’m in it to win it,” Jenner said Saturday.
Jenner also maintained her status as an outsider candidate, as well as allegations that her campaign is nothing more than a sideshow — she has also struggled in polling and funding.
“As you call experienced Republican or Democrat, okay… the experienced ones have been in Sacramento you know for the last 30, 40 years. And what have they done?” Jenner said.
“My campaign is extraordinarily serious,” Jenner added.
