After the Lok Sabha, the Citizenship Amendment Bill was also passed in the Rajya Sabha yesterday. The Rajya Sabha had 125 votes in favour and 105 votes against it. During this time there was a lot of uproar in the house. While presenting the bill, Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Muslims of the country do not have to be worried about it, because they were, and will remain Indian citizens. Earlier, in a meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed the bill as historic. He said that those opposing it are speaking the language of Pakistan.
