At least five people were killed and 12 others wounded in a terrorist attack by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Syrian province of Al Hasaka, the Turkish Defense Ministry reported.

On Tuesday, June 23, the Al Watan newspaper reported three deaths and several injuries from the detonation of a car bomb that occurred near a market in the village of Tell Halaf.

“The terrorist organization PKK / YPG continues to attack civilians in Syria, the terrorists who carried out the explosion in Tell Halaf, killed at least five people and wounded 12,” says the release.

On October 9, Turkey launched the Source of Peace operation against the Kurdish-led formations, including the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDS) and the YPG (People’s Protection Units), which it links to the PKK, banned in Turkey for considering them a terrorist.

Syria has been experiencing a conflict since March 2011 in which government forces confront armed opposition factions and terrorist groups.
