Experts from the US space agency using the Hubble telescope have taken a picture of the unique red storm and under it white storms on Jupiter. This is posted by NASA on Instagram, published on Thursday, September 17.
It is noted that the red storm is strong enough to engulf the Earth. At the same time, another storm, which, according to the agency, was also red but turned white, is also raging, but it is significantly weaker than the first.
In addition, the image shows one of the satellites of the giant planet – Europa.
As indicated on the official website of Hubble, the picture was taken on August 25 this year, when the planet was at a distance of 654 million kilometers from Earth.
“A unique and exciting detail of Hubble’s snapshot appears at mid-northern latitudes as a bright white stretched-out storm traveling around the planet at 350 miles per hour (560 kilometers per hour). This single plume erupted on August 18, 2020—and ground-based observers have discovered two more that appeared later at the same latitude,” stated in the message.
