The music service Spotify is met by adversity in India when one is forced to remove songs from one of the major domestic record companies.

It is Saregama who demands this in submitted court documents after the companies have not been able to agree on the license terms, reports Reuters. Spotify is now given ten days to remove all songs from the record company.

The message comes two months after Spotify was launched in India. The company already has over one million listeners, including the free and subscription service. The free service is funded by advertising.

Spotify has not wanted to comment on Reuters data.

India’s music market is price sensitive and full of players, including local JioSa names and Apple Music.
