Google has published in its map service Google Earth tours to US national parks, as the company said in a blog post. 31 of the 59 national parks can be experienced in this way . Reason for the establishment of the tours is the national park commemoration week in the USA, in which among other things the necessity of the nature protection is pointed out.

Users can pick a park on an overview page, then start a small tour. Here, several worthwhile vantage points of the respective park are presented, through which the user can click through.

At many of these points, panoramic shots are available. Some trails can also be partially used thanks to Street View. Some digits are available as an Earth 3D model. There is a text box with information about each attraction.

In addition to famous national parks are also less well-known available

The 31 available national parks are scattered throughout the United States. Guests can choose from Grand Canyon National Park, Mount Rainier National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Everglades National Park, Sequoia National Park, Joshua Tree National Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Even remote parks such as the Dry Tortugas National Park off the coast of Florida or the Virgin Islands National Park in the Caribbean can be viewed. Some parks are more extensively documented than others.

To visit the parks, users do not need to install Google Earth as a program. The tours can be viewed directly in the browser.
