At a meeting on October 1, the contact group for the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass agreed on troop withdrawal in the area of two settlements in eastern Ukraine – Zolotoy and Petrovsky. It was supposed to begin on October 7 and end on October 11. However, several attempts at breeding were unsuccessful due to Kiev’s refusal to breed forces. The Ukrainian side motivated the refusal to withdraw forces by the militia’s non-compliance with a seven-day silence regime in the Petrovsky and Zolotoy areas.

It was expected that at the meeting on October 15, the contact group will determine new opportunities for the separation of forces in the Donbass, but this did not happen.
