One of the findings that most surprised the members of the Special Forces who eliminated Bin Laden in 2011, was the extensive collection of porn films that he had in his house, which contradicts the beliefs of the number one terrorist.
However, apparently, he could have used all these adult films for the most unexpected purpose: to send messages to his subordinates. A new National Geographic documentary, Bin Laden’s Hard Drive, which will premiere on September 10, will explore this rather unconventional theory so that it can explain these belongings of the founder of Al Qaeda.
According to the authors of the documentary, Bin Laden could have had these videos not to see them, but to carry out his sinister terrorist operations by encoding secret messages in the video files. This could be explained by the fact that the mastermind of the September 11 attacks did not trust the emails and its encryption methods, and feared that their orders could be intercepted.
For this reason, he sent messages to his subordinates by means of messengers, who instead of carrying the orders in written form, ironically they had them hidden in a sinful content according to the ideology of the number one terrorist.
With this, the documentary itself admits that some aspects of Bin Laden’s life at that time cast doubt on this theory. Thus, the terrorist shared a house with at least 22 other people, and any of them could be compiling a collection of porn films. The US authorities declined to publish the list, but did comment that it is a “fairly extensive collection.”
At the same time, the CIA expert cited by the documentary makers, Reid Meloy, said that Bin Laden should not be considered an Islamic fundamentalist to the point of ignoring his biological needs. Meloy believes that the number one terrorist was, after all, a human and despite his repudiation for “Western sins”, he could also fall for them.
So, viewed from this point of view, the collection of pornographic materials could have no other purpose than to entertain Bin Laden and was not used to carry out terrorist attacks.
