According to data from the American Johns Hopkins University, the total number of cases of coronavirus infection around the world has reached 493,680,206 as of Wednesday morning.
Since the beginning of the spread of the virus in the world after infection with COVID-19, 6,158,913 people have died.
Countries with more than 20 million infections include the US, India, Brazil, France, the UK and Germany.
The number of infected and those who died from the consequences of infection, respectively, amounted to:
USA – 80,208,810 infected and 982,576 dead.
India – 43,030,925 cases and 521,487 deaths.
Brazil – 30,042,272 infected and 660,786 deaths.
France – 26,428,476 cases and 143,832 deaths.
United Kingdom – 21,573,997 infected and 166,751 dead.
Germany – 21,886,726 infected and 130,368 dead.
According to the Worldometer portal, which specializes in statistics on major world events, the death rate per 1 million people on the planet was 793.3 on Wednesday morning.
In the United States, 3,018 people died per 1 million inhabitants, in India – 371, in Brazil – 3,069, in France – 2,179, in the UK – 2,425, in Germany – 1,554.
