The whole world is on Ukraine’s side, including militarily.

20,000 volunteers from 52 nations have already contacted the Ukrainian government and said they want to defend the country against Putin’s soldiers. This was confirmed by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

One of them: the most dangerous sniper in the world!

Known by his nickname “Wali”, the gunman fought for the Canadian Army in the Royal Canadian 22nd Regiment in Iraq and Afghanistan. The “sniper” became world-famous in 2017 when he shot a fighter from the terrorist group ISIS – from a distance of 3450 meters. It was the world record for the longest kill shot fired with a McMillan Tac-50 rifle.

“Wali” left his wife and one-year-old son behind when he made his way to Ukraine. The 40-year-old explained his motives to friends: “It’s like being a firefighter who hears the alarm ringing,” he said.

Last week he was working in the office as a computer programmer, now he is preparing for combat at a secret location in Ukraine, he told US broadcaster CBS. His wife was reluctant to let him go, he added, but in the end, she understood that being at home would be like being in jail for him.

According to the Ukrainian “Foreign Legion for the Territorial Defense of Ukraine”, a total of 550 Canadians are said to have made their way to Ukraine.

There are so many that a separate battalion has even been set up overseas with the maple flag fighters, reports the newspaper “National Post”, citing military circles in Kyiv.

The potential soldiers have been gathered in the Ukrainian capital, alongside fighters from all over the world who want to fight against the Russian invaders. The members of the newly formed Foreign Legion were commanded in groups according to their country of origin to avoid language barriers.

There is keen interest in recruiting in Canada to go to war in Eastern Europe. According to MP Borys Wrzesnewskyj, Ukrainian-Canadian activists are in the lead here, and it is estimated that more than a thousand compatriots have already volunteered for combat operations.

Many have applied to the Canadian recruitment website defendukraine.ca, while others have simply traveled on their own. “It’s heartbreaking that so many Canadian ex-military officers are coming forward and understanding that this is just fundamentally wrong,” Wrzesnewskyj referred to the Russian war of conquest: “And they also know that it’s not just a war for democracy with 44 million inhabitants, but a fight for our western freedom!”

The recruits will be screened and receive training in Poland before fighting on the Ukrainian front lines, sources said.

However, the government in the capital Ottawa is distancing itself from Canadian fighters in Ukraine. Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland even threatened “serious consequences”.

Also many helpers from the USA

Many helpers in the defense of Ukraine also come from the USA: The veteran Cody Heard from Little Rock (US state of Arkansas), for example, is also soon on his way to Europe: For the father of a family, who served as an infantryman with the US Army, there would have been no stopping the horrifying images of the war:

“I started thinking about my kids,” he told the New York Post. “I was thinking, if I was in that position, would I want someone else coming over and helping us? Absolutely, yeah”

He wants to fly to Eastern Europe at the weekend with a group of other ex-soldiers.
